Liber Artis Orchestra is pleased to announce the first edition of the Liber Artis International Orchestral Conducting Masterclass (LAIOCM) and to invite you to apply for a course held by Maestro Sabin Pautza that will take place between 14th – 19th November 2016 in Iași, Romania.
LAIOCM is organised by Liber Artis Orchestra in collaboration with the University of Arts “George Enescu“, Iași, Romania. The gala concert will be open to the public.
Conductors of all ages and nationalities are welcome to take part in this course. Maestro Pautza will nominate up to 9 active participants out of the applications who will receive an attendance certificate. Only 4 participants will conduct in the final concert; they will be designated by Maestro Pautza after the fourth orchestra rehearsal. The decision is final and may not be contested.
Tuition language: English (main), Italian, Romanian. Repertoire: Sabin Pautza – Mozart Fantasy; Ludwig van Beethoven – ”Egmont” Overture; Antonín Dvořák – The American Quartet (orchestration by S. Pautza); Witold Lutosławski – Little Suite; Sabin Pautza – Divertimento no. 2.
Once accepted, all participants will receive within 48 hours the score sheets that will be studied during the Masterclass in order to become familiar with them in advance.
Timetable: The first 4 days: 10-12 Rehearsal with piano; 12-13:30 Analysis of the scores (with Professor Laura Vasiliu); 17-20 Rehearsal with Liber Artis Orchestra. Day 5: Dress rehearsal. Day 6: Gala concert
APPLICATION
Active participants: 800 € (500 € for Romanians). Auditors: 10 € per day. A deposit of 200 € is due one week after the acceptance by bank transfer, refundable only if the places are filled by other participants. The rest of the fee is to be paid one week before or cash 10in the first day of the course.
Applicants will send by e-mail a CV (with detailed professional experience, date of birth, nationality, full address, e-mail and mobile), a recent photo, a copy of passport and a video link (YouTube or Web) of concerts or rehearsals less than two years old. Payment of deposit one week after you receive a positive answer. Applications may be sent in English, French or Italian. The deadline for all applications is 25th October 2016, at midnight. Applications received after the deadline will not be taken into consideration! By registering for this Masterclass, participants grant the Liber Artis Orchestra the right to reproduce and publicly disseminate their image and performances for the purposes of promoting the LAOICM.
If needed: they can assist you in finding suitable accommodation in Iași; they can provide you with transportation to / from the airport / train station. Lei or Ron is the Romanian currency: 1.00 EUR = 4,5 Lei/Ron
